The following are some other examples of perfectionistic tendencies:

Procrastination – chronic delay of actions that need to get done

Indecisiveness (Aboulomania) – difficulty with making everyday decisions

Hoarding – difficulty discarding items that are no longer needed

Miserliness – difficulty spending money due to fear of needing it someday for some possible catastrophe

Fear of Commitment – difficulty making decisions in situations that have high stakes such as marriage, buying a house, choosing a school, or accepting a job offer

High Standards – setting very high standards for oneself and others which are chronically unmet and thus left with constant feelings of failure and disappointment in oneself and others

Fear of Failure – a deep fear of messing up and a chronic need to avoid any situation that can possibly lead to failure

Orthorexia – obsessively thinking about and planning healthy eating

Difficulty with Delegating Tasks – the tendency to not allow other to do work for oneself, as well as the tendency to micromanage others such as co-workers or family members

Rigidity – difficulty with change and chronic inflexibility regarding many areas of one’s life
